I will start with the good one. I have got you a sci-fi series named Altered Carbon by Laeta Kalogridis. You can watch its two seasons on Netflix. As for the bad news, (please don’t get mad at me for this) Altered Carbon is now cancelled. The series is said to be inspired from a novel and before getting discontinued aired two seasons. I can feel the shock fans been through because of the cancellation news as it was unexpected. The series had a decent number of viewers and the second season just hit the screens in February. Netflix announced that it would not feature Altered Carbon Season 3 in April 2020.

The series got suspended due to the viewership vs cost standards of the streamer and has nothing to do with the COVID-19 pandemic. Altered Carbon featured both visual and special effects which take a lot of monetary support. And maintaining the costs when the viewership is not progressing at all, is something that Netflix can not overlook. So Altered Carbon was doomed to be cancelled by the streamer.
Well, the show features a futuristic world in the year 2384. We are in a metropolis city named Bay City. Modern humans have their memory in a disk-like device known as stacks. And human bodies are referred to as sleeves, in which these stacks get implanted. In this case, one can live forever if their cards are resleeved from time to time. But they can die too if their cards get destroyed with no backup available. A family named as Meths (one of the wealthiest of the time) has the means to live as long as they want. They keep a satellite backup and use clones for resleeving.
