the speculations regarding the second season started since 2018, but as far as we know, there is no conclusion for that. The first season released on 4th October 2012, so it has been eight years. They took the first 50 chapters to make into an anime. The manga offered two different endings for the readers, but till date, there is no confirmation regarding the second season yet.
But we would ask the viewers of this marvellous anime series not to lose hope, as there is plenty of material that left for the upcoming seasons. The only barrier is the producers who have to take up the initiative to make it happen. Hopefully, we will get to see something by the end of 2021 or in 2022. We will have to wait.
Plot: Btooom!
The show belongs to the action sci-fi genre of anime and revolves around a 22-year-old boy named Ryota Sakamoto. He is an unemployed brat, who is one of the top players in an online battle royale game of the same name as the show. His days are as dull as any other person, but one fine day his world turns upside down when he finds himself stranded on an island without remembering anything. After inspecting for a while, he realises that he now stuck in a real-life version of the game, and he has to fight combat to survive.
Ryota finally decides to accept his fate, and when he teams up with Himiko, who is another game character who plays his in-game wife. The duo then tries to survive the challenges thrown at them, and Ryota sets out to kill his competitor. As for an anime, this show is very advanced as it deals with a lot of real-life issues in a reel life plot. Friendship, love, mature emotions come into play from time to time, which makes it an exciting watch. The psychological changes that one goes through after a childhood trauma also dealt with in the series. If the second season gets made, it will provide closure to a lot of things. As the manga has provided the readers with two different endings, a happy one and a sad one, we want to see how the anime adapts the manga into the next season.
Characters: Btooom! season 2
Btooom mainly focusses on two characters in the show, Ryota and Himiko. But there are a dozen other characters too who are very important to the show. Let us see who they are.
Ryōta: He is the main protagonist of the show who is unemployed, but still is proud of his global rank of 10 in the online royal battle game. He faces challenges when he wakes up n the real life of the game and has to combat to make it till the end. Later in the show e find out that it was his mother who made this happen because she found her son to be unambitious and disrespectful.
Himiko: She is the main female protagonist of the show and is just 15 years old. She has faced a lot of hurdles when she saw that one of her friends from a popular band has drugged and raped girls while her closest friend was filming the entire thing. Later they tried to rape her too, but she manages to escape. Her horrible friends were the ones who nominated her for the game because she knew about the entire incident and had exposed their dirty faces to the world.
Nobutaka Oda: He is not the main character, but he is one of the most dangerous players of the game. He also is nominated to play in the real-life recreation of the game.
Kiyoshi Taira: even though he is not the main character, he is critical to the plot of the show. He teams up with Ryota and Himiko to help them, but he loses his sanity before the game ends. He then commits suicide later on.
Kōsuke Kira: He is a 14-year-old boy who is also nominated to play the real-life game. But he is a ruthless person who shows cruelty towards animals and other humans. He has faced sexual and domestic abuse at the hands of his father which made him this way.
Masahito Date: He is another important character who is very cunning and malicious. He plays the role of a doctor in the series, but he can go to any length to survive by himself.
