Citrus Season 2: Release Date, Renewed or Cancelled?

[ad_1]

Citrus is a yuri manga series of Japanese origin. Saburouta is the writer and the illustrator of the series. The serialization for the manga series began in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime since November 2012 and continued until August 2018. The serialization is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Later on, the yuri manga series, received a 12 episode anime adaptation, through Studio Passione. Season 1 premiered in January 2018. Citrus plus, a sequel manga series followed, in December 2018.

Citrus Season 2: Release Date

The manga series, Citrus, began serialization in 2012. Later on, anime adaptation premiered in January 2018.  Although season 2 is not yet announced, there is a lot of scope for a follow-up season. Season 1 only adapted four volumes of the manga series. Season 2 may begin from size 5. But unfortunately, even after two years, we have no news for a renewal of season 2. Studio Passione has yet not revealed any news for another season. Despite being hugely popular among fans and viewers of a certain age, the anime series received low ratings. We can owe the low grade and not so favourable reviews on IMDB and Myanimelist, due to the explicit scenes. A follow-up season is unlikely, as the low ratings may discourage the studio.

Furthermore, Studio Passione is famous for making only a single season of anime adaptations. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we only receive season 1 for Citrus. But fans shouldn’t lose hope, as the studio may renew the series for another instalment. The series may also be picked for a second part, by some other production house. There is a possibility, only if there is a demand for die-hard fanatics.

Citrus Season 2: Plot

Season 1 of Citrus followed the manga series from 1 to 4. If season 2 graces our screens in the future, it is likely to begin from volume 4. A lot of the manga series is left for the anime adaptation to cover. Four seasons 2, fans expect for each episode; a chapter will be included. According to sources, if season 2 graces screens anytime soon, it will cover Harumi’s arc, Yuzu’s arc, and even Suzuran’s.

Citrus Season 2: Storyline

The storyline follows the life of Yuzu Aihara. She is a spontaneous, fun-loving, and fashionable city girl. Yuzu transfers to a new neighbourhood, as well as shifts to a new high school.
