Windows 10

Fix: There was an error licensing this video on YouTube TV 2020

YouTube TV users have reported an occasional error that reads as follows. Sorry, there was a license error for this video.

It only appears when using Chromecast Media Players or a Chromebook. Note that YouTube TV supports the latest Chromecast devices or the Chromecast application and Chromecast Ultra.

If you are using a first generation chromecast, the problems are even more common. Furthermore, the bug seems to affect not only streaming to YouTube TV, but all video content as well.

Updating Google Chrome

  • Go to the Chrome menu -> Help -> About Google Chrome.
  • You should see the installed version of Chrome and an “Update” button when updates are available.

Signing out from your Google Account on Youtube

If you’ve signed in to Youtube with your Google Account, sign out and try using Youtube again. This works if the problem was caused by a problematic Google Account.

  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

Resetting your router

Try resetting the router and it may work like a charm for you.

Uninstall Youtube and then reinstall it.

If there is a problem with the Youtube application, the problem will occur. To resolve the problem, you can try uninstalling the application and then reinstalling it.

Update the router firmware

Many iPhone users have said that updating the router firmware is the right thing for them. So this method is worth a try. To find out how to update the router’s firmware, check the modem model, and then check the router manufacturer’s website for detailed instructions.

Conclusion

Granted, we still come across various mistakes on YouTube. Some can be corrected after following the troubleshooting tips, but some cannot. If you find wonderful movies, shows, music videos or other meaningful/amusing resources on YouTube, it’s a good idea to download them locally in case you encounter unexpected YouTube errors while watching them online.
