Scored 6.6 IMDb rating and Created by Beth Szymkowski, this show seems to be very much popular among teenagers. Maybe because of its star casting which includes several social media stars among it or the freaking story it includes in. Whatever the reason, the show has proved it’s worth of being a favorite, especially among the teens and youths. The two seasons were very interesting in accordance with its plot and twists. The fans however want Hulu to clear their questions arising for its renewal or the show is enough with its two seasons and the story can’t be dragged up ahead for its continuation.

FREAKISH SEASON 3;  SO FINALLY THE NEW SEASON COMING?

Although the show gives birth to a major disappointment to critics and adults and old aged for it’s unoriginal story and tone used in the show, it proved much more delighting to the teenage viewers. Who are in a dilemma, if the show will really be renewed or it’s nothing at all with the show to be created.

Season 1 of this she was released back in 2016 on the 10th of October. And in spite of poor critic reviews, Hulu declared for the renewal of the 2nd element of this show. Which was later released on 18th October 2017. With consequently 2 years with 2 seasons, fans were foreseeing for season 3 at least till 2019. But it looks like the producers are not furthermore interested in it. However, it was widely in rumors that Hulu will renew it in 2018 and soon will release its trailer or a short teaser, but no official statement was made sooner or later. Neither the cast the production house gave any glimpse of things running backstage. The reason to imagine this situation is clear, the demand is very less as a very distinct part of the audience is attracted to its storyline and concept. It might be that the producers and authors are out of new ideas and hence further to avoid any complaints of originality in the story they may have decided to stop the further creation for its continuation. So if the fans are still on it waiting to be renewed and premiered, then they should quit their wait as there’s no chance of this show to be premiered with the new season and continue furthermore. However, it’s a hope that someday the producers might pull up their pens again for it.

 

FREAKISH PLOT, STORY, AND RECAP:

The show is about the students studying in a fictional school named Kent High. This day is Saturday where everything goes on normal in the school. Students report for detention, while others are busy with other activities like music practice, dancing, playing basketball, preparing for debates, etc. Suddenly somehow, the bell rings for the containment drill and evacuation. As the town contains a huge chemical plant, some notice the call of emergency while others don’t. The chemical explosion in the town is so massive that it almost covers the whole area of town and it’s citizens. Some students get manage to hide out in their school backyard and shelter themselves. The worst thing that happens is people who get affected and come into contact with this gas turn into horrifying zombies. This makes the students fight for their existence living in their creepy building of the school. As the show moves on, the new batch of students come in school fighting for their survival from this terrible situation around.

Despite being a horror root story, the show has everything to attract the young audience towards it. It includes romanticism, school relationships, rivalries, small fights, warfare strategies, and even the absurd ideology of some characters that further increase more the complexity and hurdles for children in order to survive in all those hazardous surroundings.

 

CHARACTERS AND CAST OF FREAKISH:

The show doesn’t have any veteran or experienced cast, but instead, social media stars are used to perform the definite characters.

The main character of the show is Grover Jones who is played by Leo Howard, is a student in the school who becomes the survivor after attending detention with his crush, Violet Adams. Violet Adam’s role is played by YouTuber, Liza Koshy, who lands up in detention owing her lack of patience and tendency to lash out. The school also has a bully Diesel Turner, which is played by Adam Hicks, Who lands in detention owing his tendency to bully his juniors.

Apart from these central characters, there are also other major characters who are also survivors. Aislinn Paul as Natalie Callaway, Meghan Reinks as Zoe Parker, Melevin Gregg as Lashawn Deveraux, Tyler Chase as Barett McIntyre, Hayes Grier as Noodle Nelson, Niki DeMartino as Sadie, Saxon Sharbino as Anka Keller, and Jordan Calloway as Zane Hiatt. Additionally, there are various actors who have relatively minor screen time and have a brief appearance in the show.
