The Indian Post Office was founded by Lord Dalhousie in around 1854 and thus is the reason for starting up for the modern Indian postal System. The Post office act already gave birth to the regular post offices in India. Working hours of the Indian Post Office:

Being a government department, the Indian post office is similar to other departments that work for 8 hours. The working hours for the employees are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, which is increased or extended at some required instances. Including the Saturday, the post office is open on all working days. The government departments won’t be open on any national holidays including all Sundays of the year and when some uneasiness occurs, the exception holidays are valid for them.

Lunchtime of Indian Post Offices:

The Indian Post Office lunchtime begins with 1:30 pm and is expected to end at 2:30 pm. However, the employes have to rest a bit after lunch and hence lengthens the ending of their lunch up to 3:30 pm. Therefore the customers are always suggested to never try for their work at lunchtime to avoid any uncertainty.
