Limitless is a sci-fi, comedy, thriller drama based on a 2011 film with the same name. The film and this spin-off series, based on a novel by Alan Glynn named The Dark Events. Leslie Dixon created, and Craig Sweeny developed Limitless season one. Paul Leonard-Morgan composed the series, and the filming location was New York City. The reception of Limitless seemed a balance between positive and negative, but still, the network decided to cancel the spin-off from continuation. It got praise for the casting mostly the lead role by Jake McDorman while criticised for narration. Read further to know why it got cancelled.
On 8 May 2015, CBS ordered Limitless, and it premiered on 25 October 2015 followed by 22 episodes. Next year on 18 May 2016 the distributor hinted about the show not being part of its next year line up. Even when the first season ended with a cliff hanger, the series got cancelled. The developer of Limitless and one of the executive members of CBS, Craig Sweeny, announced the cancellation of the show on 25 May 2016. What are your views about the cancellation? Well, the series got great appreciation, and the fans still find the thought of the cancellation of Limitless hard to sink in. CBS excused itself for not renewing the series by saying that it failed to connect to the viewers. But we all know that the main reason was the drug being the focus of the fiction. NTZ is the reason why the top streamers like Netflix and Amazon refused to pick up the series for the second season. Fans were sad, or I should say that they were mad as Netflix got a 5-star rating on the show and still did not renewed it. I too think that this is ridiculous. But they have a point as the story involves drugs and the streamers can not put a check on the age of their viewers, so they decided to keep a check on what they stream. So the bad news here is that we will not get to watch Limitless season 2 on any network.
Every coin has two faces, so does a drug. It can help us a lot, but we do suffer from the side effects. Keeping this in mind, let us take a look at the storyline. The story follows a 28-year-old, struggling musician who is our protagonist. As he gets introduced to a highly developed drug named NTZ-48, he becomes a helper to an undercover FBI agent. But he must keep the pill a secret from the FBI, while he gets the counter shots from a US Senator.
