One of the most-watched American horror drama series The Order is soon coming up with its second season on Netflix. Developed by Dennis Heaton, it was first aired on 7th March 2019. The series has received tons of positive reviews and has been critically acclaimed for its fresh storyline and screenplay. It is one of the most popular series that has acquired a strong viewership within a few weeks of its release. The series has also received several award nominations in 2019.
The plot revolves around the whereabouts of a Belgrave University student named Jack Morton, who enrolls in the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose. This society educates and practices magic. In order to take revenge for his mother’s death, he unknowingly gets tangled in an underground war between magic practitioners and werewolves.
Nothing has been announced regarding the renewal of the series for its third season. Season 2 was renewed in March 2019 and got aired on 18th June 2020. There are very few chances of series to get canceled as it has acquired quite a strong fanbase and has been receiving positive reviews since its initial launch. Usually, Netflix renews a series after a gap of one or two months of the release of the latest season.
Another significant reason why the series has not been renewed yet might be because of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. All production and releases had been put on hold since March 2020. So even if the series is renewed, the makers won’t be able, to begin with, the production anytime soon. It is expected that the upcoming season would be dropping sometime in mid-2021 or later 2021, given the fact that the production begins by the end of this year.
