Dan Levy got the storyline when he thought that what would happen if the wealthy families of America go bankrupt.

The story revolves around the wealthy Rose Family, where Johnny is the head of the family who owns a video store and Moira, his wife, a former soap opera actress. Thus, they decide to shift to a place called Schitt’s Creek, which they once brought for fun. They did not have any other way. Johnny got that small village as a birthday gift to his son David, in 1991. Eventually, the Rose Family relocates to that motel that has only two adjacent rooms. As a well-settled family before, their attitude often clashes with the people living in Creek. And also, they even have disagreed with the mayor and a lot of other people in that town.
The filming of this series started a long back in March, and now the team is ready to pack up. Moreover, all the filming officially ended on June 27, 2019. The sixth season was hugely recorded in Toronto, Canada, which is Levy’s hometown. The imaginary town called Schitt’s Creek is nothing but the real one in Goodwood, Ontario. Moreover, all the sets and interiors wrapped up at Rosebud Motel and Apothecary. Finally, everything ended a few weeks later.
