One of the most-watched and popular American fantasy crime drama, Lucifer is soon coming up with sixth and final season on Netflix. Created by Top Kapinos, it has been adapted from the DC Comics character The Sandman by Neil Gaiman, Mike Dringenberg, and Sam Keith. It first aired on 25th January 2016 on Fox.
Later after three seasons, it was canceled by the Fox network. But due to immense viewerships and popularity, Netflix picked up the series after three seasons and renewed for the fourth season.
The plot follows the story of Lucifer, the devil himself, who dismisses his duties back in Hell and settles down on earth. While getting involved in one of the murder investigations, he encounters an interesting young cop named Chole Decker and decides to become the LAPD consultant. As time goes by, both the characters entangle in different kinds of criminal cases and start falling for each other.
Is There A Release Date Of The Upcoming Season?
Nothing has been revealed regarding the release date of the upcoming season. Initially, it was decided that the fifth season would be the final season of the series but later it was renewed for another season in January 2020. The sixth season would be the last season of the series.
The production of the sixth season is almost done but due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, it was put on hold. But according to the sources, only some of the post-production process is left which should be done by the end of this year itself.
So there are chances that the upcoming season would be dropping sometime in December 2020 or early 2021. Although until the official sources comment on anything regarding the release date of Season 6, nothing much can be speculated. We hope to get further updates soon and until then stay tuned!
