A Japanese series ‘Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai’ which has a literal translation ‘Shinometa’. And some people also know it by the name of ‘Shimoseka’. Although, the full name of the anime is ‘Shimoneta: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist’. Therefore, the title of this anime says a lot about the premise or genre of this anime. Japanese author Hirotaka Akagi wrote nine volumes of the light novel series. Eito Shimotsuki is the illustrator. 

This anime series is this novel based series. The popularity of the series reached such heights that soon the anime adaptation of this particular series began to air during the year 2015. J.C.Staff and Independent Japanese Studio are the production houses. Moreover, the first season of the anime had twelve episodes which gained all praises and popularity among the viewers across the world.

Shimoneta Season 2: Release Date

The first season of Shimoneta premiered on July 2015 and finished on September 2015. The fans loved the first season so much that now they are expecting the release of the second season. Moreover, there has been no official announcement regarding the release date of the same, but there are rumours that there will be a sequel soon. And stories of the sequel are making rounds. Therefore, fans are anticipating the release of the sequel soon around 2021. • Tanukichi Okuma: Tanukichi is a fascinating character of this series. He is the son of Zenjuro, who is a terrorist. Tanukichi is famous for his sexual and lewd behaviour. He has a childhood friend Anna, and he has a crush on her. But when he enters the school, he meets another girl Ayame, and things get complicated. It is interesting to see him confused between these two girls.
• Ayame Kajou: Ayame is the daughter of a Diet Officer. Her father has faced a lot from the government because he campaigned against the strict laws of the government. Therefore, Ayame is a rebel and works very hard to find against the government. To hide her face, she puts panties on her face, which is quite funny to watch.
• Anna Nishikinomiya: Anna is the president of the ‘Student Council’ and is also a childhood crush of Tanukichi. In the episode, we observe that she falls in love with Tanukichi when he kisses her. But Anna fails to address her feelings to him. She is a character who loses her senses whenever she faces a difficult situation.
• Otome Saotome: Otome is one of the most famous and interesting characters. She is an artist and has her paintings all over the school campus. But she never feels the motivation. She is so prevalent in her school, but that popularity does not matter to her. Because of the device, she finds it challenging to paint with her hands. Therefore, she learns to paint with her mouth and in this way fools the device. We see her blackmailing another character as she finds out the secret. It is funny to watch how she will insist on the name to be her pet.

Shimoneta Season 2: Plot

As there is no official announcement regarding the release of the second season, so there are no updates regarding the plot of the new season. But the story of the first season was fascinating, and we believe that there is a lot more to the information.

The plot of the first season revolves around society is Japan which is a dystopian alternate society. In this Japan, the government of the country has put a lot of restrictions over the public. They are not free to share their opinion. Moreover, there are restrictions on their communication as well. Therefore, the whole population is facing violence under the strict authority of the government. The government has all the control over the public.

Moreover, the government keeps an eye on every action of the public. And if they curse any citizen of Japan, then they arrest them and take them to court. If the public performs any immoral activity, then the government of Japan takes such kind of steps against the individual. The immoral activity can be something tiny like a typical joke, and it may be something huge like the distribution of illegal material.

Every member of the country wears ‘Peace Maker’. This device monitors every activity and action of all the citizens. The plot of the anime also shows some exciting and dangerous incidents. Moreover, it becomes funny in between when the citizens try to deceive the government. On the whole, this anime is worth watching.
