This music show is different in itself in many aspects. Someone who is music-oriented and wants to later work on music as a career will never disobey the fact that this show is complete in itself. It has a unique concept in which it deliberately expresses the work and efforts put by the music creators in the backstage. Obviously, the show is about singing but not to forget that the show also comprises of songwriting, composition, and the final stages of music editing, before declaring it as a ready product for the listeners.
Eventually, this show became a massive hit and popular when released back in around May 2019. It fascinated the wide age group of fans basically the adults.
First of all, the show does not contain any cash prize for the winner neither any luxurious object as a trophy. Moreover, it comprises of three veteran music producers as a host. These three have earned the respect and are totally worthy to be placed for this show. Three of these hosts include Grammy award nominal for producer and lyricist ESTER DEAN, winner of Grammy as a producer and main singer of the infamous band ONE REPUBLIC, RYAN TEDDER, and winner of Grammy as lyricist SHANE MCANALLY.
The show has a so shallow concept that every space is fully equipped with talent and concern. The producers of this show have taken the utter efforts for its creation. David A Stewart’s concepts have taken him far from. Above from already being a musician and composer. Whereas he is also known for as a member of the British Pop Duo Eurythmics. There are many executive producers of this show and MAROON 5 frontman, ADAM LEVINE is one of them.
About talking about the actual procedure of this show, it seems too simple than it actually is. The show is visited by a musical guest every weekend and the participants have to compose a song from the scratch under the mentoring of one of their three producer-hosts. The musical guest selects its favorite song among the contestants, and thereby the winner is chosen according to the performance. The achievements of the participating contestants mean the achievement of the mentoring producer-hosts.
Talking about the last season, which was running magnificently from start to end saw various celebs invited as a musical guest. The first episode of this show was premiered on the 13th of April 2020. The 10 episodes long season saw invitations of 10 famous musical guests.which were called to add glitters to the show respectively. However, due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the shooting of this show was done in isolated locations to avoid any further consequences. The season was, however, as pleasing to fans as expected, and saw the 31 originally created new song across it.
The winning mentor of this show was Ryan Tedder with 5 wins. Whereas, Shane McAnally and Ester Dean tied with 3 wins each. The further treat for fans was the crossover between another popular show THE VOICE and SONGLAND. Where the three Producing hosts Shane McAnally, Ester Dean, and Ryan Tedder helped the last 5 finalists to utmost support for their song creation and composition. However, the show didn’t get the support that it enjoyed for season 1, but neither it was that low to wrap the production of the show. It just got a drop in the numbers of fan following. Hence the show has seemed to convince both fans and the producers to dig for next season.
SO WHEN IS SEASON 3 COMING BACK?
It’s not even about 4 months when the finale episode was premiered, and fans are already very delighted for the next season. After taking into consideration the show’s production cost which is very low as compared to other reality shows maybe because of its shooting in very selected locations, It is sure that next season is going to be a massive hit again and will soon on the platform. But till now nothing is declared about it or any element related to show. However, SONGLAND is one of those prestigious shows of NBC which is definitely going to bounce back again. As of now to be updated, there is no official statement about it.
After achieving the spectacular success, the fans are already eager for 3rd season. The viewers are demanding more new guests who can explain their experience of their songwriting and its creation. The new season will definitely give some never-heard songs and brand new music for fans which is another reason for being enthusiastic. Already the newly released songs of the show get wide popularity and some of them gain #1 position on the iTunes chart. Demands for more artists and singers are also made by the excited fans, which will rise further stiff competition in the show.
