When we talk about immortals, the first thing I think of is a vampire. Yeah, they are the one. From movie series to the television series we get to see a lot of them, don’t we? If you have watched The Vampire Diaries, then you should add V Wars in your must-watch list. Just start liking a series and see how everything goes down the hill. Now, are we talking about cancellation? Well, Netflix can win a world cup in doing so. That’s what it is doing this year cancelling one show after other. However, I am not blaming it for doing so because it does have reasons. Let us know the fate of Netflix’s V Wars for Season 2.
The series hit the streamer’s screen on 5 December 2019 as a Netflix original. V Wars had a run of 10 episodes of 37 minutes each for the first season. Netflix announced the cancellation in March 2020. That was short, don’t you think that too? Just ten episodes, that’s it. After watching other such series, how are we supposed to be satisfied with that? I know, I am dramatic. But it was just not enough of Ian Somerhalder and Adrian Holmes. A trivia: Ian did direct one of the episodes and was an executive producer of the series.
As we know, viewers and reception describe that particular series or film is. Netflix is one of those who pays attention to the viewership in its series. The main reason for why V Wars got cancelled is the low number of viewers of the series. It got a rating of 5.8 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes. At the same time, critics described as a potential series but a failure.
The series got inspired by Jonathan Maberry’s comic books of the same name. We find ourselves in a post-apocalypse where a physician and his best friend are trying to find the key to survive. The vampires are all around them as the duo struggle to maintain humans safe from getting infected. Dr Further Swann and Micheal Fayne are in a dilemma when someone plots against them and tries to destroy every single ounce of humanity. We get a great cliffhanger at the end of the tenth episode. Where the son of the physician gets abducted, and we still don’t know his whereabouts. It’s a pity that we do not know more of the story.
The fans didn’t take the news of cancellation well and vent out themselves on various social media platforms like Twitter. William Laurin and Glenn Davis, the showrunners of V Wars were also sorry to let the fans down. Ian, on the other hand, consoled the viewers by saying that this will not be the end of the story through his post. Have you watched the Twilight series? If you want to be a part of a world conspiracy, then Blood and Treasure is something you are going to like. Get a glimpse of Blood and Treasure Season 2. I will take a leave with a promise to be back with some new and exciting plots for you all.
